A Sad Farewell: Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection to Be Removed Soon
In a surprising twist, the beloved Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection is set to vanish from digital stores just two years after its launch. This announcement comes from Limited Run Games, who revealed this news on Steam earlier today.
Starting from March 31, 2026, fans will no longer have the option to buy the game digitally. However, if you already own it—whether in physical form or digitally—or if you make your purchase before the cut-off date, rest assured that you can still download and enjoy it whenever you wish.
While the exact reason for this delisting remains unclear, it’s reasonable to speculate that this decision stems from licensing agreements that have come to an end, mirroring the fate of similar titles like Bill & Ted’s Excellent Retro Collection, which was also removed from sale not long ago.
Limited Run Games made a point to communicate openly with their audience about this change, stating:
"We wanted to give you an early heads-up that the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection will no longer be available for purchase on digital storefronts after March 31, 2026.
If you already purchased the game, don’t worry — you’ll still be able to redownload and play it anytime.
In the past, we learned how important it is to provide plenty of notice for changes like this, so we’re committed to being as open and transparent as possible. Our goal is to give fans every opportunity to grab the game before it’s too late. Thanks for understanding!"
Originally released on November 22, 2023, the collection will only have been available for approximately two years and four months by the time it is removed from the eShop. It features a nostalgic lineup of games that include:
- Jurassic Park (NES)
- Jurassic Park (Game Boy)
- Jurassic Park (SNES)
- Jurassic Park (Genesis / Mega Drive)
- Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues (SNES)
- Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues (Game Boy)
- Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition (Genesis / Mega Drive)
Although this collection may not represent the pinnacle of gaming for the iconic dinosaur franchise, it serves as a nostalgic time capsule filled with 8-bit and 16-bit gems created in the wake of the monumental success of the 1993 movie. In our review, we acknowledged its limitations, rating it a modest 6 out of 10.
